We are trying to get out of town and I’m doing everything I can to not nag John. I feel like we are cursed whenever we try to leave town. No matter how much planning we put into the leaving part, something ALWAYS comes up. Mostly something at John’s work pops up, but other times, including today, we have a car issue.
So let me tell you how excited I am for our little getaway. Every year since we’ve been married (that makes it sound so long – 5 years), we take a December trip the 1st weekend of December. (I know it’s the second weekend this year) The purpose originally was to make that our goal to get Christmas shopping done (not all done this year) before we leave town and get away to connect as a couple. Only a weekend, no kids and no agenda.
So, I have been wanting to go to Hermann Hill in Hermann, MO for the last 2 years and we are finally going this year,,,any minute now hopefully. We didn’t go last year because I was 9 months pregnant and wouldn’t be able to partake in the Jacuzzi tub or the hot tub on our private deck. But this year, I am not pregnant (I know can you believe it?) and we are going soon.
The other places we’ve gone for weekend trips are Chicago (2x), Kansas City and Saint Charles. The latter was because I was very pregnant and could essentially have George at anytime. We also usually take the train, which we LOVE, ….thinking about it… if we took the train today we would have been there already.
